What is SHIVA SHIFT?
SHIVA SHIFT supports men with children through change. It combines personal reflection, body and breathing practice, individual coaching and connection with other fathers.
Who is SHIVA SHIFT for?
For men with children who want to shape fatherhood consciously — in a relationship, after separation, as a single father or in another family structure. Trans men are welcome. In our introductory conversation, we explore whether this offer fits your situation.
Do I need to be spiritual?
You do not need any spiritual beliefs. Openness, honest exchange and a willingness to engage with your everyday life are the starting point. Breath and movement exercises are explained as practical tools.
How does change become practical?
By trying small steps between sessions: pausing consciously before conflict, expressing a clear boundary or reliably planning time with your child. Together we reflect on what helped and what you want to adjust.
Do I need experience with yoga or meditation?
No. You can begin without prior experience. Exercises are explained clearly and adapted to your experience and circumstances. You can pause or skip an exercise at any time.
Is there an age limit or gender policy?
People who identify as men and have a child or are becoming fathers are welcome. There is no fixed age limit.
Who leads the sessions?
Sashiva leads the sessions. Bring questions to a session, individual coaching or the contact section.
Program
How is the program structured?
Three modules of three weeks build on each other: finding your footing, understanding patterns and living the change. You can open and read each of the nine weeks and their focus areas above.
How often do we meet?
The program has two online sessions a week, planned for Tuesday and Thursday evenings, around 2½ hours each. The Monday father circle is separate from these five weekly program hours. Exact times are confirmed before the start.
How large is the group?
We work in small groups of at most eleven fathers, leaving room for personal questions and mutual exchange.
What personal support is included?
One 55-minute individual conversation is included per module: three in the full program. Additional individual coaching is optional and booked separately.
Are there materials for between sessions?
Included: starter box, workbook, journal and challenge book, access to the provided program videos, forum and network group, plus one year of the father circle. Starter box contents, access details and the start of the access year are specified before booking. Recordings of personal group conversations are not automatically promised. Merchandise and retreat are separate.
What happens after the three modules?
Aftercare: a Zoom follow-up, forum and network group help maintain connection. One year of the father circle is included. Additional meetups are not a guaranteed inclusion.
Which yoga styles inform the practice?
Hatha, Vinyasa, Jivamukti, Kundalini, Yin and Nidra inform the practice. Exercises are selected to suit the group.
Which breathing practices are offered?
Breath awareness and guided pranayama. We choose suitable practices together; intensive techniques require individual suitability.
What happens after the program?
Aftercare: a Zoom follow-up, forum and network group help maintain connection. One year of the father circle is included. Additional meetups are not a guaranteed inclusion.
When are the sessions and how long do they last?
Online sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19:00 Berlin time (Europe/Berlin, CET/CEST), approximately 2½ hours each. Father circle: Mondays, around two hours; time to be announced. Spring and autumn cohorts: exact start dates will follow. Add time for personal reflection and challenges.
Participation & everyday life
What do I need for the online meetings?
A device with a stable internet connection and audio/video, plus a reasonably quiet place. A mat, comfortable clothing and some space help with movement; a notebook helps with reflection.
Can I combine this with work and family?
The process should fit into everyday life. We discuss your available time and the weekly schedule in our introductory conversation, so you can assess whether participation works for you before booking.
What happens if I miss a session?
Let us know as early as possible. We will discuss whether and how you can catch up. Recordings of personal group conversations are not automatically guaranteed.
Do I have to tell my story to the group?
You decide what you want to share. Listening is participation too. Personal boundaries are respected; nobody has to disclose intimate experiences publicly.
Can I participate with limited mobility?
Discuss your circumstances and needs with us in advance. Physical exercises can be adapted. In our introductory conversation, we clarify which framework is suitable for you.
How should I prepare for a session?
A quiet space, comfortable clothing, water, a mat and a notebook. A cushion, blanket or blocks can help.
Are there dietary requirements?
No mandatory diet. A balanced plant-based diet is encouraged; individual needs can be discussed beforehand.
Is there a materials package?
Included: starter box, workbook, journal and challenge book, access to the provided program videos, forum and network group, plus one year of the father circle. Starter box contents, access details and the start of the access year are specified before booking. Recordings of personal group conversations are not automatically promised. Coaching, circle & retreat
Can I book coaching separately?
Yes. Individual coaching is a standalone offer, currently from €111 for 55 minutes online. You can also book it alongside the program.
What happens in the father circle?
A separate online circle for sharing and connection, also open without joining the program. Monday evenings of around two hours are planned. Existing pricing is €15 per meeting; dates are confirmed in advance.
How are personal stories protected?
Confidentiality and respectful treatment are part of our shared framework. Personal stories shared in the circle should stay there. We discuss these agreements and the limits of the format at the beginning.
What happens at the offline retreat?
The retreat is the voluntary in-person completion of the program. Four days on the Baltic coast with yoga, conversation, walks and shared cooking are planned. Participation and additional costs are agreed separately. Venue and dates will follow.
Will the retreat be on Rügen?
A venue on the Baltic coast is planned. No exact location or date is confirmed; Rügen is not guaranteed.
Are travel and accommodation included?
The retreat is paid separately from the online program. An additional budget of around €400–500 per person, excluding travel, is currently planned; this is not a fixed price. Accommodation and self-catering costs are confirmed separately. Arrange your own travel. Sauna, external events and other extras may cost more.
